Update – Lawrence/Donway Bus Route 162

Background

TTC Commission examined the proposed TTC bus route changes, and took into account the concerns communicated. As a result of these comments, the Transit Authority recommended new criteria.

Originally, service was to be cut on routes throughout the City where there was 15 or less boardings per hour. This was reduced to 10 boardings per hour where the nearest alternate bus stop is more than 600 metres away. Due to these new criteria, the proposed bus route changes for some of the routes have been reconsidered, including our neighbourhood bus route 162.

Outcome: Lawrence/Donway Route 162

According to the TTC, the new proposal for the #162 Lawrence Donway is to run service all day Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. every 30 minutes, with no weekend service. This is a change to the originally proposed service, which was to run Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon peak hours only.

According to the TTC the date of implementation of the bus route change is scheduled to be May 8th, 2011.
