Wednesday December 7th – Participate in the City’s Budget Process – Register to Depute!

The City of Toronto is now reviewing the proposed 2012 Tax Supported Operating Budget and 2012 – 2021 Capital Budget and Plan.  The decisions taken during this process will determine what programs and services the City will offer.

Many residents are currently aware that the City-run pool programs offered at Bedford Park are slated to be cancelled.  I am very concerned with this possible program cancellation and strongly encourage residents sharing my concerns to register to make a deputation at the December 7th Budget Committee.

The Committee will meet at 9:30 am in Committee Room 1, 2nd floor, City Hall.  If necessary, the Committee will reconvene on December 8th to hear any remaining speakers on the list.

To register to make a deputation, please call (416) 392-1032 or (416) 397-7768 or email buc@toronto.ca no later than 4pm December 6th to ensure that your name is on the speaker list.

Monday December 12th – Waterfront Toronto – Public Consultation

Monday December 12th, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street

At the September Council Meeting, Council reached a unanimous decision for Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto to lead a review of the Port Lands.  Waterfront Toronto and the City of Toronto have begun work to create a development and implementation plan for the Port Lands and are inviting members of the public to be part of the process.

The meeting will include a summary of the work to date, the goals for the Port Lands initiative and an overview of acceleration opportunities and challenges for development.  The meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss their goals and ideas for the Port Lands.

Thursday December 14th – Third Party Ground Signs Located on Certain Rail Lands within the City of Toronto (Illuminated Signs) – Public Consultation

Thursday December 14, 2011, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., City Hall, Committee Room 1, 2nd Floor

I encourage concerned residents to participate in a public consultation session regarding this item as one of the proposed 3rd party signs is to be located within the boundaries of Ward 25; specifically within the CN Railway Corridor, near the intersection of York Mills Road and Leslie Street.

City staff from the Sign Bylaw Unit, Toronto Building, and the applicant will be available to participate in the consultation session.  Registration is not required.
