The 2014-2018 City Council term is officially underway and I’m honoured to Chair the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee and sit on the city’s Executive Committee.I asked for a substantive portfolio and Public Works is it. In the Toronto Star’s words, it’s “one of the city’s most important committees.”With a budget of more than $2 billion, its mandate focuses squarely on the critical issues at the core of our city’s success and prosperity, including gridlock and congestion, infrastructure renewal and preparing for extreme weather events, like last year’s ice storm.

I was also appointed to the Striking Committee, Art Gallery of Ontario Board, Canadian Film Centre Board and the nominating panels for the Committee of Adjustment and the city’s three civic theatres.
