These events provide a great opportunity to clear out items found during spring cleaning projects such as used electronics, including cell phones, speakers, printers, laptops, and computer cables. Household hazardous waste (HHW) items can be disposed of here as well, including household cleaning products, aerosol cans, cooking oil, medical sharps, and lighter fluid. You can also bring items for donation such as sporting goods, books and gently-used dishes. A full list of items can be found here.

City staff will also be giving out one cubic meter of compost per household – for free!

Other groups attending Environment Day include:

  • Toronto Water
  • Solid Waste Management Services
  • Live Green Toronto
  • 311 Toronto
  • Toronto Hydro
  • The Salvation Army
